Right now we are in a freak of nature. Normally we don't get snow in Victoria, atleast not in November...and this amount. Im writing this brief post from work, as we are with out power at home. And being in the country and on a well means no water. Its been out for almost 36 hours now...and is supposed to go down to -12 degrees celsius with the wind chill. Last year, I made the passing comment to some friends how much I missed not getting back up to Strathcona Park winter camping. Well no need to think about it anymore...I'm doing it.
ouch! it's been -25 or so here in Edmonton, but everything is running okay. I hope things warm up for you>

Crazy weather this year, a fellow on a backpacking forum I visit lives in the Oregon Cascades, a couple of days ago he reported that the snow level there is still at 6000 feet. Saw that they're making snow for the Olympics, did something extraodinary just happen or is my geography terrible and I just don't know where Victoria is?
Too cold for me, I camp in the summer if I have a choice.
