I am done with great things and big things, great institutions and big success, and I am for those tiny invisible molecular moral forces that work from individual to individual, creeping through the crannies of the world like so many rootlets, or like the capillary oozing of water, yet which if you give them time, will rend the hardest monuments of man’s pride." (William James)
You know you can sit back in your chair of cynacism and complain the, " your church " should be doing more, that why isn't " your Pastor " organizing this and that...
Or you can be that tiny invisible force, pour yourself out into the nooks and crannies of the world, permeating, revealing Jesus, redeeming, restoring...building His Kingdom.
In time you'll see it's not about great institutions, your church, their church...it all comes down to you.
Yeah, why is that? Why do people sit around complaining that the preacher/pastor/priest doesn't DO anything?
It reminds me of the leadership retreat I went to a few years ago where the group is a circle. The top down heirarchy of the church is the least effective means of leadership structure and it automatically denies the gifts of the people in the pews for the upbuilding of God's kingdom.
Grace and peace.
