I'm not a big sermon fan. It is not so much that I don't like good teaching. It's more because much of what I've heard lacks relevance, and lacks the incredible redemptive imagination of the Kingdom Jesus lived in, spoke about, built and spread.
But...two of the most profound teaching on the Kingdom come from Greg Boyd. I know for many, just the word sermon causes one to cringe, shrink...or turn and out right run. But. if you've had questions about the Kingdom, and its relevance today, I encourage you...please listen to Greg.

Following Jesus involves serving and relating to those who are living in poverty. There are more than 400 passages (spanning more than 3,000 verses!) in the Bible that make this point, yet this aspect of being a Christ follower is not often highlighted. Our Compassion by Command series will help equip you, whatever our economic status, to have relationships with and serve others across socio-economic lines. The study explores Scripture passages about our response to poverty, presents the stories of individuals living in poverty and gives us the opportunity to discuss this important issue and decide how to respond together. Join us as we follow Jesus and serve with compassion!
Ok, if you've listened to those 2 sermons and you feel confronted to dig deeper into this God of justice, mercy and compassion...whose son came and lived it out among us showing us the profound redemptive imagination of the Kingdom. Please, Please...I encourage you to listen to Greg's complete series on Compassion at Woodland Hills Church.
